California Trip!
I am so excited to jump back into this little personal blog of mine with the trip I took to California a couple of weeks ago!
I got to meet up with some of my college besties (first time since TWO years ago when we met up in DC!) and it was a happy tears kind of reunion. My friend Jaja has laid down permanent roots in Los Angeles, so Roxie (from PA), Renee (from VA/DC) and myself (from NC) met up and made a TON of incredible memories over a short amount of time.
This was my first big trip away from my little fam since having Haven/her heart surgery/18 months of covid, and although I was BEYOND words excited, I was definitely anxious (just in full transparency to anyone out there who gets it and thinks they are alone— since I have never dealt with anxiety before this) but am just so incredibly grateful for these precious days away with some even more incredible friends.
We hit the Los Angeles ground RUNNING with an immediate trip to in-n-out, ha! This blog is just the photos taken from my actual camera, so there will be lots of gaps— but still so many beautiful photos that I’ll cherish forever.
Day 1— We did ALL the tourisy things. Starting with a trip to Tom’s 1 hour photo — IFKYK (not pictured but I’ll eventually get these up on a Facebook album of some sort) We found palm trees with the Hollywood sign in the back, went to Griffith Observatory, went to the famous Farmer’s market, and ended the evening visiting Santa Monica Pier.
Day 2— Beach day @ Hermosa Beach with a Korean BBQ Dinner
Day 3— We headed to San Diego for the day and got to 1) see our other sweet college friend who lives in La Jolla (shout out to Bethany Pico for being the BEST and taking us on a day FULL of adventure. we love you.) Not pictured, but we also got the quickest and phenomenal visit with our friend Nate & Nicole (+ their babes) who just happened to be visiting family in San Diego at the same time (literally beyond blessed with all these reunions)
Day 4— While Renee & Roxie visited with some friends Jaja and I hiked to the Wisdom Tree and the Hollywood Sign and literally just had the time of our life. We did a ton of other stuff this day, but ended in Little Tokyo where we had the bessssst food. The next morning we were in the airport bright and early.
I could say SO MANY more words, but instead here are some of my fav pics:
