[Joe & Nicole || e-session]

You know how people have career goals/checklists? Being a small business owner, I have both small and large goals for my business but one list I have is the places I would LOVE to shoot one day. Some of these places are extravagant, but some are really in my own backyard/coast!

I have lived on the east coast for a good chunk of my life now, and my time in DC has been scarce, to say the least. I have shot MANY weddings in northern Virginia/outside of DC, but my time actually in the city has been minimal. That being said, I have always had shooting actually IN DC, in the midst of all the monuments on my list for quite awhile now, so when Joe and Nicole said that's where they wanted to start out their e-session, I was ecstatic!

This session was technically in three different parts, but we started out bright eyed and bushy tailed right at the Lincoln Memorial!

By the way, did you know, if you show up to DC at 5:45am on a Sunday morning, you can actually street park super close to the monuments? Your girl (me) was the second car to arrive and I parked closer than I thought was even possible. If you're wanting to take photos with the monuments, sunrise is the way to do it my friends.

Speaking of that and in full disclosure, although we stared shooting EARLY as soon as the sun was rising, there were still a lot of people out and more and more so each minute, but still significantly less than normal (says Joe and Nicole because I wouldn't know!) SO, with that being said, I did work some photoshop magic when there were people in our frame, don't be deceived or too shocked to think we rented the place to ourselves ;)

After we wrapped things up at the monuments we headed to Joe & Nicole's alma mater, the Catholic University of America and let. me. tell. you. what. as you will see below, this campus is STUNNING. We only stayed there briefly and were able to take photos in front of some of their favorite buildings and in a stunning prayer garden. The architecture and florals were STUNNING.

We wrapped up with capturing one of their favorite activities on the greenway: riding their bikes! Joe works part time in a bike shop and they both ride their bikes to work, so when I mentioned any props they want to use should depict them/some aprt of their relationship- they were excited (especially Joe!) to include their bikes. It was incredible fun and creative for me, and I can't wait tor you to see my favorites below!

Joe & Nicole, words can't express how much fun I had with you two! Thanks for letting me geek out like a tourist and for having a blast taking these photos. You two are the best and I can't wait for December!

We started shooting as soon as the light allowed- I love this morning light because it's so soft, light, and airy which are three words I love when describing photography styles.
